Wait are u talkin R/C because 1:1 is full size? I think ur talkin what scale to do it on. I would say 1/3 would be best but that will take some $$! Mabye 1/5 1/6 wolud be best on a 1500$ buget. hope that helps:cool:

sweet - love to see some of the 1:1 rides - would help the thought process!

Are you talking full interior for the 1/10 car, or just a body shell? for a full interior, I'd look at a pan chassis for the clearance and extra room. Tamiya F103GT would be a good choice. Light, Cheap, RWD, and a fairly low profile chassis

if doing just the body, any 1/10 scale elec sedan should work. With nitro you'd have to cut some holes in the body.

Their not really a job more of a hobby where he sells them after he makes them, i'll try my best to see if i can get some of the pictures of the current one hes got hopefully he will, he usually don't let anyone see his cars till done, but were tight. And OldSchoolRc I pretty sure he wants to do the full out thing. I got him to like rcs like a week ago and now hes crazy over them, so i showed him the Baja 5b magazine of Rc Driver and all i heard was can i borrow that, and what websites do you use, and companies hes crazy!!! :D:eek:

Sweet!! always like to hear about a newcomer to the hobby. I stand by the F103GT (in fact, i just ordered one myself for a high speed project)

Im gathering all of this information for him so when he visits i ll find a way to print it out so i can give him a way to get started, so he doesn't get into to deep with out some assistance cause he might get scared a way with all of the parts out there. I called him up last night and told about that car oldschool. so that may be where it starts!

I did a 1/10 scale custom a few years ago, I used a stampede tranny for the engine and tranny portion and made a drive shaft to go to a bruiser rear axle after I narrowed it. I then just built a scaled down frame out of brass and then i used a camaro body and cut the doors and trunk open, for the bracing on the trunk I glued balsa to the lexan and then used fiberglass to make it look real. I then made all the interior panels the same way. It took me about 6 months to build, the frame being the hardest. I ended up making lower control arms out of a set of modified, trimmed, ground up, bandit arms and then glassed them to look like real arms, and then did the same for the upper arm. To make the bottom of the engine bay look real I got some modelers putty and sculpted a 3 dimensional relief of the bottom of the engine bay...headers were made from aluminum tubing, as well as the rest of the exhaust, but the tranny, engine oilpan, etc, were just attatched to a pieced of resin soaked balsa and set in place between the frame rails to hide the stampede tranny. On the back I used really thin gauge sheet metal and bent leaf springs and then just stacked them. Granted with the gear reduction of the stamp tranny and the bruiser axle it wasn't that fast, but it looked cool...

Currently I am working on doing another scaler, when I get it closer to finished I will take pictures. Instead of using a stamp tranny, I used a Novak with a 5mm shaft and just used drive cups to connect to an axial ax10 axle. I took the frame for a spin and its sick quick. I am currently making a mold to make a 3d replica of a chevy 350 and am going to machine splines into it and using it as a heat sink. I figure adding valve covers and pans and headers, and then a fan will make it look more realistic than all the heavy fins, plus the aluminum heatsink for an engine will keep the electric motor cool. I did this so I can open the hood this time. I am using an old chevy corvette kyosho body for this build, so Im hoping with the opening hood, doors and trunk I can make a sweet scaler.
