Hey all, I have a traxxas E-maxx with the stock traxxas shocks. I want the STIFFEST SPRINGS I CAN GET! I'm runnin 1000 weight diff fluid in the shocks and the traxxas white springs With 20mm preload. I know what I have sounds like a stiff setup but I want more! I mean I WANT STIFF!!! Anyone know of some very stiff springs for the traxxas shocks. I cant run any thicker than 1000 weight in the shock cause they wont move at all. So any ideas for a stiffer suspension. If ur wondering what I'm doing with the truck, I have a 10 foot ramp that jumps into a 65 foot deep quary. About a 90 foot fall.:cool:

If you're going to jump your truck from that high you're going to need a lot more than just stiff shocks.

I agree, and im sorry to say but once again your an idiot! oh well, but i wouldn't jump an emaxx that high ever. You know, If its too stiff, when it lands it could as well just shatter, cause you might as well just put on metal rods if your gonna make them that stiff, or it could just land on its hood, and smash it like a bug!!:(

Sorry, I just felt bad for that emaxx thats all,:( and the idiot thing was a joke about the policeman thread when i wrote to you!:rolleyes::D You could try going to a hardware store and looking for extra stiff springs hope it helps. The only thing i want from you is a video of you jumping it and showing an after picture!:D Good Luck!

You should set some pillows at the bottom of the quary and try to land on those with your truck.:D I have to ask though, what did the poor e-maxx do to deserve this?

Darn guys I traded (my full blown E-maxx) for a E-maxx with a few hop-ups and a Jammin X1 crt pro with out a motor. That darn R/C bug bit me and I said yes. I still have my hooters body and batts. for the E-maxx so I'm good. The E-maxx I got from the trade has blue grove 17mm wheel hubs, bow-tie tires on proline rims, The upgraded 16.8 EX2 (Its the 3606) And 3.3 drive shafts. I'm not sure that I did the best trade but I could still use the stiff spring combo. O mouse I'll try that.

Hey I still need some springs, but does anyone know of some really good shocks for my new downgraded E-maxx?

Are the Traxxas upgrade big bore springs good enough?
LSXEric
08-10-2008, 09:58 PM

Thanks for the link, cooldude. Anyone know if the pro-line shocks are any good? Heres a link.
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_860_864/products_id/25764
Also about the pro-lines do they have springs or what?
Mad Racer

Pro-Line ones should be very good, since they makes a big difference from the stock ones for modding.
LSXEric
08-11-2008, 03:01 PM
Okay do u need to buy springs for them. If so what kind? or where do I buy them?
Mad Racer
08-11-2008, 03:04 PM
I don't know, but I remember seeing that Pro-Line has other shocks that were like the same as those and they didn't needed springs. Do those needs springs?
LSXEric
08-11-2008, 03:11 PM
I dont now thats why I asked u! Because I still really want a stiff suspension, but I can wait. I still have to build up the E-maxx and make it tough.
Mad Racer
08-11-2008, 03:23 PM
Well, I guess springs for it can make is stiff. Since I think these shocks are the same as the ones that I seen before didn't need springs, but if putting springs, might be very stiff.

08-11-2008, 03:28 PM
Well thats what I'm looking for! I also was wondering if there is a kit to put Losi LST shocks on. Like those massive ones would be killer!
Mad Racer
08-11-2008, 03:30 PM
Well Eric, I have a Aftershock and those shocks are monsterous! They are too big to fit in any other truck, the LST chassis is there home. :D
LSXEric
08-11-2008, 03:38 PM
Darn 4 of those on an E-maxx would be awsome! O-well any more info on the pro-lne shocks anyone?
Mad Racer
08-11-2008, 04:06 PM
I don't know much about the Pro-Line shocks, but I seen some put those huge LST shocks on Savages. I think you needs to do some custom modding to mount those huge shocks.
LSXEric
08-11-2008, 04:08 PM
O-well. For now I'm gonna look at the proline's

Well if u read I already went over this. I jjust want to do it one time to get a vid. I used to have a full blown E-maxx but traded it for a Jammin X1 pro with out a motor and a slighty modofied E-maxx. So I'm looking at some good shocks now while I build it up.

hey man them prolines look kool there suppose to be really good, one set of the shocks tho have no springs and there suppose to be used only one per arm along with the other shock sold by proline, i kno that sounds confusing but heres is a link to show what i am talking about http://www.maxxtraxxusa.com/Tamiya_TNX_Pro_Racing_Truck.cfm ( o btw this set up is on a old tamyia tnx pro which came out in 2005 lol) them shocks have been around for a long time lol

Okay now I'm confused. Look at the link that Mad Racer gave me on page four. It has all 8 shocks in one package. I know that 4 shocks act as the damperners with no springs and then 4 have springs on them. So look and tell me some sence I'm confused.

Hey guys I'm bck from my trip! I brought home some STIFF springs that fit the stock shocks. I mean gett thestiffest revo spring and double that stiffness! I'll get pics of the once I can use the camera again!:D

Okay I got the pics. Man these are STIFF! drop it 10 feet in the air and it doesn't bottom out! On elvaluation I'd say image friction shocks that have super stiff springs on it! One other thing, the quary fall will never happen, because the quarry is being filled with HUGE rocks.:( But I will jump the heck out of it!:D

What spring rates are on your rig?
LSXEric
08-27-2008, 06:38 PM
Well to tell the truth I dont know. I found them at a hardware store for 5 bucks. I would have to say take the stiffest revo spring and times it by 5. But to me they are just plain stiff!:D

Well I jumped the heck out of it today! I have a friend that has a wood ramp that he let me use. WOW! I was getting 15 ft air the truck came down on pavement flat and it doesnt botom out!:D I did break one thing after three charges. A rear drive shaft, but that was of poor driving. Hello mail box! My review on te springs are.
tuneability, 5
cost, 10
stiffness, 100 out of 10:D

I was thinking of driving my EMaxx thru a tunnel of fire and have a big explosion just as the EMaxx exits the tunnel ,then I want to jump it off a 100 foot cliff into the ocean and after it washes ashore I will tie a fish to it then drive it past a grizzly bear. I would like to know if the warranty will cover any problems I have with the esc ?I'm feeling pretty confident I that I can pull this stunt off without any problems, but just incase you know...
