annnnnnnhhhhh, so-so i'd say, but it really depends on what your looking for. If you simply want all-out monster time, the MLST2 is one of the best choices out there (along with the duratrax mini quake and the losi mini monster-baja). If you are looking more to performance, i'd say rc18t or vendetta

I have a rc18b which is awesome on the track but lacking in offroad capability.
I thought (like you said) that the Mini lst2 would have more power and offroad capability.

The mini LST2 is one of the toughest and best off-road capable minis on the market today. I have been absolutely brutal on my mini LST2 and the only problem I have had is the servo on the right side of the truck had a few chipped teeth on its gears. If you are looking for a speed demon then the mini LST2 may not be your truck. If you are looking for a truck with extreme durability, good handling, and great off-raod performance then the mini LST2 is your truck.
PS: If you drive the mini LST2 in tall grass then the motors will shut off for 2 min. I called Losi about the motors shutting off and they said it was to prevent heat building up in the motors and damaging the reciever.

I do have a mlst, the mlst2 comes with steel diffs wich is a very good upgrade
stock speed is very poor and it gets old fast, so you may want to upgrade the battery the motors and the Esc, a decent brushless combo will set you back around $140 bucks, a LiPo battery and charger around $100, the mlst is a great jumper, however off road capabilities are below average due to the center differential, so if you get stuck in some rocks or high grass the motors will transfer the power to only one tire (in this case the one with no traccion), this is a big turndown for any monster truck. also if you break a bevel gear inside the front or rear differential (wich are still plastic not steel),be prepared to spend a full hour to fix it; the Mlst is very hard to work on it from changing a wheel to fix a P.I.T.B. diff. but I guess thats the joy of the hobby right. other than that is a very fun little truck. I hope this helps and merry christmas to everybody.

Thanks everybody for the help. Compared to an rc18b how big would it be? I know that it is 1:18 scale but it is still a monster truck.

The mini LST2 is a little bit bigger than the rc18b. The things that make it larger are the tires, the height, and the width. kaifan #1 is right, the mini LST2 speed is pretty poor so upgrading the motors should be on your list of hop-ups to get.

Let's just say, it will be more fun than your rc18b, +bigger tires last longer.:D
