This is a compilation article of RC Driver's Jason Carter's live build of the Tamiya CR-01. You can read about it on our Forum by clicking here. _________________________________________________________________________________
STEP 1All you do in step one is build the cantilever systems for the front and rear. A couple of things to pay attention to: Orientation of parts C3 and C6, and the orientation of part BA31. BA31 is the "link shaft" that the torsion bars slide into. These MUST be installed with the slots 90 degrees to the centerline of part C3 or you'll find yourself disassembling this bits later.
Step 2
Step 2 is done. Step 3.The cantilever assemblies and the ladder frame are attached to the chassis rails in this step.
Instead of installing the 14 3mm nuts in this step like the manual states I figured it would be safer to install them just prior to step 4 - when I bolt them to the frame rails. Step 3 is done. Step 4Just as I'd suspected, those 3mm nuts were determined to give me a hard time. Front of the chassis to the left in the first image. Don't forget to install the stabilizer rods in this step...not that I forgot or anything.
Step 4 is done. Step 5Next on the list...Axles.
