Chassis:
A molded carbon plastic chassis provides a rigid and lightweight platform. The front and rear plates of the chassis are replaceable for quick inexpensive chassis maintenance.

The Ve8's motor is way up front, keeping the weight as close to center as possible.

A sealed receiver box keeps the electronics in a safe environment and away from dirt and debris.

Optional mechanical brake function is included with all the necessary components and mounts to get you stopped in a hurry. Not only does this give you added tuning ability with brake bias (not possible with motor brake) but it also keep your motor and speedo cooler which might come in handy when your throwin' down some serious lap times!

As with all HB kits, the weight is super low. The lower your weight is, the harder you can push your corner speed!

Suspension:
World Championship proven steering geometry provides the car with quick responsive steering without jeopardizing strength.

Once again drawing on our D8 knowledge, our super-sized shock package is the largest in its class allowing the Ve8 to withstand the largest of jumps and bumps.

CNC-machined suspension mounts hold the hinge pins in place without e-clips anywhere. The captured hinge pin design makes maintenance easy!

Drivetrain: The Ve8 uses extra heavy-duty spiral-cut diffs to get the power from the driveshafts to the wheels. Six steel universal dogbones are used for the center driveshafts and at each corner to get the power from the middle diff to front and rear diffs, and also from the diffs to the wheels. The optional disc brakes can be adjusted separately front and rear using the unique linkage that brings the adjustment linkage of both brakes above the middle block deck.

RPM Releases Their Roof-Mounted Light Bar Set

Last month, we released our Slash front bumper light canister set that changes the look of the Traxxas Slash from a stadium truck to an all-out Baja truck. This month, we step it up! Our all-new Roof-Mounted Light Bar Set looks just like the roof light sets of current Baja 1000 trucks. It incorporates six of our light canisters (the same used in the front bumper light set of RPM #80982 & #80983). Each of the six canisters is capable of holding a high intensity, 3mm LED (not included) for the ultimate in nighttime off-road racing experiences. What’s best? This light set will fit all current 1/10th and most 1/8th scale “Short Course”-style bodies! That’s right, they will fit the Traxxas Slash, Associated SC10, Losi Strike & HPI Blitz to name just a few.

The goal of our Roof-Mounted Light Set was to recreate a scale version of those light bars found in full-sized racing while striving for some reasonable amount of crash-survivability. What we came up with is a light mount set that uses a unique hinged system that in the event of a roll-over, the light bar will fold against the body to help reduce impact damage. The light set is designed to bolt to the front windshield of the truck (although with sufficient room, it can be mounted to the rear window as well), keeping the profile low and in the perfect position to light up the night. Each kit comes with a pair of large backing plates that help protect the body where the screws hold the light bar in place.

Each kit comes complete with all necessary mounting hardware, light canisters, molded parts and instructions. The instructions also show how to easily create your own LED light set-up with a few basic electronics skills, some tools and a little patience.

We mold these light bar sets in black, chrome and blue to match or contrast any paint and color scheme.

LRP Precision Parallel LiPo Balancer

Specially developed for LiPo and LiFePo batteries, it automatically recognizes the cell condition of all 2-5 cell LiPo and LiFePo batteries. If the condition of the cells is not equal (if they differ more than 20mV), an automatic equalizing of the cells starts and balances during charging to ensure that all cells are 100% equal. The micro-controller regulation guarantees a high precision charge.

The balancer is not positioned between the charger and the battery as is normally done, but is connected in parallel. Therefore there is no interference with the charger and its functions. By using the balancer while charging, the lifetime of the cells is increased significantly. In addition, the cells will be boosted to their maximum performance.

Tamiya Introduces the 1/10 R/C Team Repsol Mitsubishi Ralliart Racing Lancer

For this 2009 season, the Repsol-Mitsubishi Motorsports have teamed up once more with a different race car, the Racing Lancer. From the lessons learned from the Pajero Evolution, the Racing Lancer features a multi-tubular chassis, a 260hp 3-liter turbo diesel engine and a carbon fiber body. At the 2009 Dakar race, team driver Joan “Nani” Roma drove his car to finish the season in a respectable overall 10th position.

Team Associated RC12R5.1: Take The Next Step In 1:12 Scale Racing Evolution

The Factory Team 12R5.1 is the latest evolutionary step in Associated’s twenty-five years of 1:12 scale racing history. New for the RC12R5.1 is the wide three-point rear pod that has been optimized for fitting brushless motors as well as heat dissipation. The 12R5.1 is built on a 2.5mm woven carbon fiber chassis that utilizes a pivot-ball link rear suspension that allows for independent adjustments for chassis roll, bump, and alignment.

Having the ability to make these chassis adjustments independently gives the 12R5.1 greater potential for the best possible handling on any track surface. While testing, the pivot-ball link chassis has proven to be more durable in high-speed impacts and excels in bumpy track conditions.

The 12R5.1 features shocks with a through-shaft design providing equalized damping throughout the full stroke of the shock in both directions without any unwanted rebound. The center shock tower has four mounting positions that split the spring rates for even finer adjustments. The center shock also controls the chassis droop and can be adjusted on the car with a turnbuckle wrench, making it easier and quicker to get dialed in.

The 12R5.1’s “Active Strut” front end has been optimized, featuring symmetric components with adjustable caster and track width, as well as a front axle with wheel nut. Factory Team blue aluminum servo mounts position the servo flat on the chassis for a lower center of gravity and include Ackermann adjustment spacers. The foam front bumper helps protect body and chassis during impacts.

The 12R5.1 comes ready for brushless with a new optimized wide rear pod. The rear pod features a woven carbon fiber top plate and Factory Team blue aluminum machined motor mount, left side bulkhead and motor mount standoff. The woven carbon fiber top plate attaches to the motor mount and left side bulkhead at three points, and uses an integrated standoff, making the rear pod more rigid. Front-to-rear chassis balance is optimized at the center of the battery, allowing an easy transition to 3.7V LiPo batteries.

CC BEC PRO is a high output switching BEC (battery eliminator circuit). The CC BEC PRO is rated for up to 12S input (50.4 volts)* and has a peak output of up to 20 amps. The output voltage is fully adjustable using Castle Link USB adapter and a Windows PC. The output voltage may be set in 1/10th volt increments anywhere between 4.8V and 12.5V.
