RPM Releases Nerf Bars for the Traxxas Slash and Slash 4x4

Nerf bars play an extremely important function in the overall durability of a Short Course racer by protecting the sides of the chassis and fragile body of the truck. A weak nerf bar can expose the body and chassis to severe impact damage from side impacts, roll over’s and T-bone crashes to name a few.

RPM has once again stepped up to make the most durable and well-designed nerf bar for the Traxxas Slash and Slash 4x4. The RPM nerf bar eliminates the stock hook-over-the-chassis that supports the nerf bar and replaced it with a structural cross rib running parallel to the chassis for optimum rigidity and anti-deformation characteristics. By eliminating the hook, installation is easier; the nerf bar doesn’t have to be deformed to get it in position and the nerf bar no longer pulls on the side of the chassis when it takes a hit.

We also switched to a full round radius in the compression area of the nerf bar. The stock trapezoidal shape forces too much impact energy into the tiny corner radii near the body support area, usually ending in a break. The RPM nerf bars’ full corner radii are huge in comparison and allow a progressive compression of the nerf bar while distributing the impact energy over a much larger area, preventing breakage by design.

RPM Hub Carriers for HPI Blitz

The stock rear bearings and axle carriers of the HPI Blitz, Blitz ESE, Firestorm 10T, E-Firestorm & E-Firestorm Flux aren’t quite strong enough to handle the punishment HPI owners dish out. Once again, RPM steps in to make a good product infinitely better!

Our primary focus was on a bearing overhaul. Stock bearings are a 5x10mm design, which is a rather unusual size and according to RPM customer reports, not strong enough for their demands. RPM Bearing Carriers use a 5x11mm bearing and if you’re familiar with the best selling RPM carriers of all time – our Traxxas Rustler, Stampede & Slash rear bearing carriers (#80382) – that use a 5x11mm bearing, you’ll already know how strong this bearing size really is. The typical bearing load rating difference switching from the stock 10mm bearing to an 11mm bearing nearly doubles (from 44kgf to 73kgf) the dynamic load rating!

Naturally, while we were building a new axle carrier, we went out of our way to make sure the overall design met standard RPM criteria for strength and durability. What we came up with is nothing but pure RPM muscle, sure to make even the most discerning customer extremely happy!

RPM rear bearing carriers are made from our bulletproof blend of super strong nylons and are factory backed with our industry renowned breakage warranty. Coupled with the fact that we proudly produce every RPM molded product in-house in our facility in Chino, California USA means you’ll end up with superb, extremely high quality RPM products each and every time!

Tech Notes: RPM Rear Bearing Carriers are sold without bearings. The bearing carriers are stock upgrades from both versions of the Blitz while they are the upgraded carriers for all versions of the Firestorm (they contain an additional inner camber link position not found on stock Firestorm axle carriers).

Turtle Racing Releases "Quick Diff" Transmission Case for Baja 5B / 5T

This is not a carbon copy of the stock trans. It is made from 6061 Billet Alum so not only does it cure the exploding trans problem, but now you can remove/maintain your diff in a fraction of the time without removing the Transmission! This Transmission greatly reduces the amount of time it takes to remove/install your diff because you no longer need to remove the gear plate, spur, brakes, trans plate, trans, rear shock towers, rear shock brace, upper A-arms and in most cases, you don't have to remove the PIPE!! Remove the rear bulkhead and pull the diff!!

This transmission weighs in at 8.5ounces and we have shaved all the fat off.

There will be no more flex in the trans, no matter the heat or HorsePower. Gears will stay at a constant mesh all the time. This will help the trans gears last longer.

Think of the possibility! I used to keep several complete transmissions with different diffs installed in them, with different weight oils for different conditions, and lets face it, as a back-up. Now, I only keep diffs! And I can change them out quickly as needed. I can go from a sand Diff to a track diff in minutes!

We also drilled and tapped into the boss that goes into the trans plate so you can actually screw the Transmission to the trans plate making that A LOT more secure. By the way, no more breaking the boss off the top of the Transmission!
