Kyosho announces the Ultima SC

The dominance of the R/C short course racing is spreading across the world and is becoming a part of the major races in the U.S. ROAR already has announced this class and regulations have been introduced. The Ultima SC has been designed with all of the racing performance in mind and meet all ROAR regulations. This Ready Set (Ready to Run) is not just for backyard basher but a race ready chassis with many of the high performance traits from the Ultima RT5. The chassis plate is 40mm longer than the RT5 chassis light and strong. The rear suspension are symmetrical so a single replacement arm can be used on either side of the truck saving on money and space in your pit box.

RPM Introduces Front Bumper, Skid Plate & Chassis Brace For the Associated SC10

RPM is proud to offer a new front bumper system for the Associated SC10. This is an all-new system quite unlike the stock version. It is designed with two primary purposes – first and foremost is durability while second, it has to look good doing it! Our goals have been met with an overwhelming success.

Our front bumper system is designed in three pieces. The most critical piece is our unique chassis brace. This brace bolts to the bottom of the chassis using existing holes to help reduce the possibility of chassis breakage through frontal impacts. We achieve this by using 6 mounting points – both servo mounting screw holes and all four bulkhead screw holes. By tying in all 6 locations with a stout, molded nylon plate, we create a perfect foundation for the RPM front skid plate.

The new RPM front skid plate ties into the same four bulkhead screw holes as the chassis brace but we went a step further and added two extra skid plate mounting holes to help disperse frontal impact energy over a larger surface area. This design protects the front bulkhead much better than the stock bumper. Additionally, we’ve eliminated the stock front bumper loop that ties into the front shock tower. By eliminating that piece, it allows the front bumper much more room to absorb impacts while transferring zero impact energy into the fragile front shock tower. The massive front curve of the skid plate does two things – creates a progressive impact zone that steadily absorbs more and more impact energy as the bumper compresses. The curvature also creates a great transitioning surface for those less than stellar landings or unexpected obstacles that “pop up” in front of the truck.

The final piece to our front bumper is an already battle-tested front bumper. It is the same bumper as those used on our Slash front bumpers. What that means is superb impact absorption combined with the ability to accept RPM light canister sets (RPM #80982 & #80983) for nighttime fun! That’s right, now SC10 owners can light up the night too! Combine RPM front bumper light canisters with an RPM roof-mounted light bar set (RPM #80922, #80923 & #80925) and that’s a whopping 10 LED’s worth of night burning light! Want more? RPM Rear A-arms for the Associated SC10 & T4

RPM SC10 / T4 A-arms were designed to solve a critical durability issue stemming from stock rear A-arms. Our SC10 / T4 rear A-arms are designed to withstand some serious abuse! Our A-arms are over 25% thicker around the hinge pins than the stock versions which translates into pure RPM muscle to help eliminate damage during those “Wow, did you see THAT crash!” moments. Other design improvements include angled leading and trailing edges of the A-arms, which help the A-arms transition up and over objects much better than the blunt surfaces of the stockers.

We also focused on the hinge pin retaining system used on the stock A-arms. Using a small screw hole so close to the hinge pin like the stock arms do weakens the A-arms at that point. We moved the hinge pin retaining screws in-line with the hinge pins, significantly strengthening our A-arms in the process. By eliminating the smaller 2-56 hinge pin retaining screws, we’ve also eliminated the problem of the hinge pins falling out due to varying screw head diameters.

Our final focus was on slop elimination. Our strict quality control allows us to tighten up all of our tolerances without fear of binding the suspension system. The final result is a smooth, free moving suspension system with minimal slop. Our tighter tolerances on our A-arms allows other critical adjustments such as camber and toe angles to be much more consistent, providing better and more consistent control of the SC10 / T4.
