The Build – Part 9
Well, you’ve made it to the final step of the Vaterra Ascender K5 Blazer build. Hopefully your build looks similar to the one here! Let’s finish this project up…

Attach the tow hooks and winch cover to the front bumper.

Screw the front bumper assembly to the chassis. Don’t forget to install the two plastic spacers. These extend the bumper out so it doesn’t hit the K5 body.

Attach the pair of tow hooks to the rear bumper.

Using the 4 plastic washers, mount the bumper to the chassis. Like the front, these washers extend the bumper out.

Mount the side bar extenders to the chassis.

Now mount the side bar to the side bar extenders. You might need to twist the extenders a bit to get them to mate correctly.

Insert the front body posts into the mounts. Yes, we’re skipping the tire build for a sec.

Now insert the rear body post into the mounts.

Insert the foam rings into the tires, then press the wheels into the tires. Using CA glue, apply a small amount to each side of the tire bead. Give it a few minutes (maybe 10) before flipping it over and repeating the process on the backside.

That’s it! Mount the tires and body to the K5 and get that sucker out on the trails!
