So what’s all the fuss about with these tools? Let me start off with the handle. The back end of the handle features a gold anodized aluminum backing with Scorpion logo etched in. Next comes the meat of the handle that is black anodized aluminum with a knurled finish so you can get a good grip on it. On one side of the handle the size of the tool is identified while one of the other has the word “Performance” etched in. The handle is also hollow, making it super light. The working end of each tool is made from ultra tough high speed steel and the hex tips are machined to the tightest tolerance for a perfect fit. They are secured into the handle with not one, but two set screws so they are not going to start spinning when a great deal of pressure is applied!
Besides standard hex drivers that everyone wants, Scorpion has made rounded hex head bits to get at screws and such that are on tricky angles. I also received 4.0mm and a 5.0mm Phillips Head screw drivers that are perfectly made and standard length 5.5mm and 7.0mm nut drivers. All are made with a high degree of quality and workmanship and fit perfectly into their 10 Piece Tool Bag that is the perfect size to fit in a pit bag when headed to the track for a day of racing or practice.
Scorpion also has three handy dandy Mini Nut Drivers in 4.0mm, 5.5mm and 7.0mm sizes that are the perfect for wrenching wheel nuts and the like. While they won’t really fit into the Scorpion Tool Bag, they are small enough that you can easily find another place for them in a tool box or car carrier.
Since receiving these tools I’ve used them to build two kits and rebuild a 4×4 short course truck that had been well used. Even on screw heads that were in less than perfect shape the hex wrenches worked perfectly and the round hex wrenched worked well on angles just as intended. In short, I was and continue to be very impressed with the entire line of Scorpion High Performance Tools that I have received.
