B5 to B5M CE Conversion

When Team Associated released the RC10B5 and B5M, the RC community was in shock that AE released two cars for specific types of tracks rather than just one buggy for all purpose use. There were mixed emotions from some who did not want to buy two kits and two sets of electronics to run the AE cars.

Support the shop that supports you!

There is a new track opening near the RC Driver offices and I’ve been there quite often helping the facility with everything from advice to manual labor painting walls, building pit tables, track design and soon. We’re pretty excited that yet another track is opening where we will be able to test products for the magazine.

Axial Yeti Score Review

Bashers and off-road racers across the globe have been waiting with zealous anticipation for Axial to release a trophy truck. Once the early videos of the new Yeti SCORE Trophy Truck hit the internet, that anticipation grew to a fever pitch. Building off of the original Yeti chassis and drivetrain, Axial took the design a step further with a fullblown Trophy Truck body that’s loaded with scale details.

Spot the RC Newb

Over my thirty-plus year run in the hobby, I've hung out in my fair share of hobby shops and raced at more tracks than I can possibly remember. When I and many other RC racers hit up these places, we have our routines which are often executed with blinders on as to what and who are around us. Sure there are racers and a track and most likely a shop, but lurking in the background are newbies!

M005 VII R Review

Born out of necessity to compete with the Ford Focus driven by Ken Block, Nobuhiro “Monster” Tajima developed the Monster Swift to challenge the legendary drifter on the Gymkana circuit. A staple on Team Suzuki, Tajima is considered by many to also be “Mr. Pikes Peak”, having been the first to crack the 10 minute barrier with his Monster Sport SX4.

DEX210F Review

The battle over what people think is RC off road racing rages on all over the internets, the Googles, "book to the face" and it's probably deleted from many snapchats accounts every twenty four hours. Many think that dirt is the only true surface for off road and many of thosepeople use slick rubber tires on the dirt nowadays. Carpet and turf off road tracks are popping up all over the place and taking flack from dirt believers

Craniac and Skully Review

My mission in RC over the years has been simple, to inspire and capture new hobbyists in the radio control car world. Some aspire to rule the block with the fastest RC car and some move on to the racing world in hopes of bring home trophies. For some time I wanted to bring home all the gold too, but I found much more satisfaction in helping people get into RC successfully. From my view, Traxxas is a company that helps this cause that is so near and dear to my heart.

Turnigy Fabrikator 3D Printer Review

3D Printing technology is here and its popularity is growing rapidly! Printers are being used to create everything from prototypes, to art pieces and of course even RC model parts, basically anything you can imagine being printed in plastic can be. Turnigy saw this rapid growth in popularity and the need to fill the void by offering a 3D printer at an affordable price.

High Tech Trail Adventure Project

At RC Driver we get to drive a lot of cool vehicles for testing, but there have been times recently where we’ve been jealous of the editors over in our sister magazine’s offices on what they are testing. Lately they’ve been raving over some FPV racing drones coming into the office. We see them testing out new goggles at their desks and flying the racing drones in our parking lot. That of course got our minds working on how we could use FPV in RC cars.

Nero Arrma BLX Review

For a few months now, Hobbico has been teasing the RC masses with sneak peek videos of their new release. Vague, super sci-fi looking videos tantalized fans, but cut to the end before any real info was revealed. Well, the news is out and the Nero is about to hit the streets. We, at RC Driver, heard about the truck quite a while ago, but were not made privy to exactly what the details would be.

Revenge .21 Off-road

Nitro off-road 1/8 buggy racing is still a strong competition segment in the hobby and with so many advances has become a battle of equipment along with skill. The battle of equipment certainly means more cost and to some its difficult to pay out to stay on top, so when choosing equipment you have to choose wisely and within your budget.

Team Losi Racing 8IGHT-T Review

Outdoor racing is in full swing and it's interesting to see where the classes have progressed to this year. It seems as if the truggy class has expanded from nitro only to both nitro and electric. It appears the club racer may lean toward the electric side, while the devoted competitor still leans toward nitro. I could just be rambling on, but this racer tends to gravitate to nitro and when I saw the 8IGHT-T 4.0...

Pro Boat Zelos 48 Review

Heading out on the water during the summer on a real boat in order to simply run RC boats has become a common pastime with a few of my RC buddies. About twice a month, we pack up food, beverages and as many RC boats as we can on a pontoon boat and spend all day in a remote cove just enjoying the model boat side of the hobby. On one trip one buddy arrived with his Pro Boat Blackjack gas boat converted to electric power.
