IN THE BOX

You have to love the Axial box art, it gets you amped for adventure, but more importantly is what’s inside. You’ll get the assembled SCX10 II chassis with electronics installed, body painted and detailed, the Spektrum radio, AA batteries, manual and a bag of extra parts from when the kit was built at the factory. These extra parts include driver figure heads you can swap out and additional pieces that may come in handy for future builds.

THE BODY

Clipped to the body mounts is one of the most recognizable bodies in RC, the Deadbolt body. It’s Axial’s interpretation of a custom off-road truck with cage, dove-tailed rear, basic interior and a really cool roll cage fitted with a lightbar. You can add an Axial LED light set if you feel like getting adventurous at dusk. The other exterior feature to note is the licensed CRC front bumper giving the rig some protection and a mean look.

SCX10 II Platform

The trusted SCX10 II platform has been a favorite among builders for years and also with new drivers getting into crawling. It’s just a simple platform that works. There is a metal ladder frame chassis, forward mounted battery, oil filled shocks with a 4 link suspension set-up in the rear and a 3-link with panhard bar in the front. The driveline features the LCX AX10 transmission going to AR44 single piece axles. There are metal gears inside and ball bearings. On all four corners are Nitto Trail Grappler tires glued to Method replica rims; this is new for 2022.

NEW ELECTRONICS

The electronics is where the big changes come in on the 2022 refresh of the Deadbolt. The rig now has a Spektrum 40A brushed speed control, a Spektrum S614 Servo, Dynamite 35T motor and a Spektrum SLT3 radio system with SLR300 receiver.
