Leisure Hours Raceway in Joliet, Illinois, will be playing host to the Futaba Electric Challenge for a seventh straight year. On-track action promises to be as hot and heavy as it’s been in previous years, opening up prospects for two full days of highly competitive racing. Friday, September 16 will be used as an open practice day, so drivers can get their vehicles dialed-in to both the outdoor and indoor tracks. Saturday’s events are scheduled for the outdoor track (will be moved to the indoor track in case of inclement weather).
Registration is still open and as always, drivers can race in one class on both days for one low entry fee. Points earned on Saturday will be combined with points earned on Sunday to determine final standings. There will be trophies for all A-Main finishes as well as the first six finishers in the B-Mains. Drivers will also have the chance to take home a piece of the prize money through raffles and other events, including two “Dash for Cash” events: one for 1/8 scale Buggy and a second in the class with the largest number of entrants.

This year, there will be 9 classes of competition:
■ Electric Buggy
■ Stock 2WD Short Course
■ Modified 2WD Short Course
■ Modified 4WD Short Course
■ Stock 2WD Buggy
■ Modified 2WD Buggy
■ Modified 4WD Buggy
■ Modified 2WD Truck
■ Rookie
