When you own a super-powerful monster truck that is powered by a 6S brushless motor system like the Arrma Kraton, you are going to perform a load of high-speed passes up and down the street. In order to better dial-in the on-road handling of a truck like the Kraton, we suggest swapping out the stock wheels and tires for these pre-mounted Pro-Line Street Fighter HP 3.8” street belted tires. The Street Fighter tires are designed with a technology that Pro-Line developed to mold a high-performance herringbone weave pattern belt inside of the Street Fighter tires. When driving a very high-speed vehicle like what the Kraton is capable of, the tires tend to balloon and make the truck awfully difficult to keep in control. The belt inside will prevent the tire from ballooning to give you maximum control of the Kraton so you can go full power without worry. Part of the equation that makes these great on-road speed tires is the soft M2 compound combined with an aggressive grooved tread pattern.

Now the tire does not get all the attention because the wheel that Pro-Line includes is quite cool. The Pro-Line Raid 3.8” Removable Hex Wheel allows you to replace a damaged wheel hex without needing to replace an entire glued tire. A unique interlocking hex design is bolted into the wheel using eight M3 screws. If the wheel hex becomes damaged, just unscrew the M3 screws and install a new wheel hex.

Pro-Line Pre-Cut Brute Bash Armor (White) Body — #3521-15

A very wise choice for a massive monster truck that will be laying down high-speed runs on pavement is to outfit it with a durable body. Crashes are inevitable, so stock lexan bodies will take a real beating and get completely thrashed. For this reason we had to go with the Pro-Line Pre-Cut Brute Bash Armor body. The body is molded from Pro-Line’s Bash Armor material which is twice as thick as regular 1/8-scale bodies yet is ultra-flexible to reduce the chance of cracking and shattering. The super durable Brute Bash Armor body was developed from the ground up to be the toughest body Pro-Line has ever produced. Don’t worry about getting this body mounted up. It comes pre-cut and was designed to perfectly fit on the unique Kraton 6S chassis. Since it is made from the Bash Armor material, it comes molded in white and is not paintable. Pro-Line does provide a detail sticker sheet so that you can take the all-white body and complete its look. If you need a body to be super durable, this is your answer.

ARRMA TYPHON = RACETRACK BUGGY

Pro-Line Buck Shot Off-Road 1/8 Mounted Buggy Tires—#9062-233

Since the goal with the Arrma Typhon is to give it a more targeted purpose instead of being an all-around basher, we selected the Pro-Line Buck Shot off-road 1/8 mounted buggy tires. We really like the versatility these tires provide as well as they have a proven track record in off-road buggy racing. You will notice the pins are placed closer together side to side for longer lasting performance. Additionally, the Buck Shot tires are directional with a different tread on the outside compared to the inside of the tire. This means that depending on the track you will be running, you can mount the tires to suit surface conditions. One side of the tire has standard pins, which is ideal for lose or low traction track conditions where you want the tire to add side grip and improve steering. Then if you mount the Buck Shot tires in the other direction, the connected side tread reduces side traction on high-bite or edgy conditions…basically two tires in one. And unique to the Buck Shot tires are the alternating elongated bars that provide awesome forward grip.

To make this conversion of the Arrma Typhon as simple as possible, we picked the Buck Shot tires that come already mounted onto the wheels. You can trust in Pro-Line to give you a tire/wheel package that comes properly mounted to give you confidence on the track as well has get you out there quicker. Pro-Line Axis Clear Body—#3580-00

The body on a race buggy should not be overlooked because it does make a difference. That is where the Pro-Line Axis clear body comes in. It is a high-performance race body purpose-built just for the Arrma Typhon. The Axis body has a cab-forward design which will increase steering response while the small side fins balance out the rear of the buggy with the ideal amount of side-bite. Pro-Line employed the latest in CAD technology to achieve the super low slung design with sharp detail lines and made sure to leave just the right amount of clearance for the motor and electronics. The body will fit the chassis and bulkhead shape perfectly.

The Axis body comes clear and includes decals, window mask and overspray film to aid in the painting process. Once the body is painted and mounted, the Typhon will definitely look the part of a track-ready buggy and improved on-track handling will back up its new appearance.

Pro-Line Trifecta Black Wing—#6249-03

Obviously aerodynamics are critical when racing hence our selection of the Pro-Line Axis body. In the same vein we would install the Pro-Line Trifecta wing to replace the stock one on the Arrma Typhon. As its name implies, there are three benefits with this wing: performance, durability and style. The Trifecta features a bi-level design with multiple center fins to create some serious stability. Underneath the main plate of the wing are three dimples that hang down on each side which will increase low speed downforce and they will reduce drag at high speeds. There are also two optional wickerbills that come with the Trifecta to give you some extra tunability and Pro-Line includes the mounting hardware. Finally, the wing has an aggressive, futuristic design that nicely pairs with the Axis body and can be detailed with the decals that comes with the wing.

ARRMA SENTON = OLD SCHOOL DESERT RACE TRUCK

Pro-Line 1978 Chevy C-10 Clear Race Truck Body—#3510-00

We at RC Driver love running short course trucks because they look so cool tearing across rough terrain as the suspension soaks up the hits. To take it a step further, we have a soft spot for old school vehicles so converting the Arrma Senton into an old school desert race truck is the best of both worlds. To this end we chose the sweet-looking 1978 Chevy C-10 race truck body. It has the classic step-side, old school body style with big race fenders and squared off cab and bed. This is exactly the type of truck you would see tearing across the desert back in the late 70’s. In order to complete the look of the C-10, Pro-Line provided a nice set of stickers that accurately recreates the front grill and headlights and includes some period looking sponsor logos as well. This body comes clear so you can make it your own.

Pro-Line Hyrax SCXL 2.2”/3.0” M2 All Terrain Tires—#10164-00

We can’t just change the body and leave the stock RTR tires on the Arrma Senton. To finish off the desert race truck look, a proper looking tire is needed to complement the 1978 Chevy pickup body. This is where the Pro-Line Hyrax SCXL tires come to the rescue. This tire is not just about scale realism, but Pro-Line designed it to have incredible grip and stability on harsh off-road terrain…just like what a desert race truck would face. The Hyrax features an aggressive open tread pattern with each tread block containing multiple sipes for improved forward grip. This tires is also 1/4-inch taller than standard short course tires so the Senton can benefit with some increased ground clearance and improved handling on rough terrain.

ARRMA GRANITE = INSTANT TRANSFORMATION

Pro-Line 1972 Chevy C-10 Tough-Color (Stone Gray) Body—#3251-14

The last of the four conversions is by far the easiest and quickest to make happen. Pro-Line is constantly working to create new products and be innovative as they go about it. One of those inventive products are the Tough-Color bodies and that is the key to making the transformation for the Arrma Granite fast and simple. Here we picked the Pro-Line 1972 Chevy C-10 Tough-Color gray body. This body is made from polycarbonate that starts off gray, so you never have to worry about paint peeling or chipping off. The advantage here is that all you have to do is trim out the body, add body post holes and apply the stickers. Your Arrma Granite will look entirely different and it will only take you 30 minutes to get it done.
