Exotek EXO-FIVE Chassis Conversion

Exotek EXO-FIVE Chassis Conversion

If you’re in the market for a lightweight touring car for stock racing (or even VTA), you might want to check out Exotek’s new EXO-FIVE Chassis Conversion. This kit is designed for the Tamiya EVO5/EVO5 MS to be a lightweight, super narrow setup perfect for these racing classes.

Exotek starts by including a 2.25mm carbon fiber chassis narrowed to 86mm. It’s light, strong and quite a bit stiffer than the stock chassis. Next, they’ve done a little motor relocation; it’s now on the left side of the chassis and farther back to increase high-speed steering as well as remove torque-steer. Exotek has also revamped the spur gear mount, going away from the sloppy stock setup in favor of a new, one-piece design. A floating servo mount is standard as are the hard anodized center driveshaft cups that incorporate Tamiya’s CVD Puck system. Finally, the adjustable battery cradle can successfully secure a full-size 2S LiPo or a shorty-style pack.
