If your glow igniter has lost its ability to grip the plug, it’s probably because its inner tabs have lost their shape. Using a soldering iron, put a small drop of solder on each of the tabs. After you’ve done this, when it’s recessed into the outer sleeve, it will have a much tighter fit.
