Hitec MD-10 Action Camera Review

There are many options on the market for action cams these days and while some might be better than others, you almost always get what you pay for. However, this is not quite so with the new MD-10 from Hitec. The manufacturer teamed up with AEE to develop a small, user friendly HD solution at quite a nice price. Boasting features normally found on much more expensive cameras, the MD-10 is small, lightweight and produces incredible footage for videos and still shots. Let’s see what it’s all about …

Hitec offers up the MD-10 in two different packages. The “Lite” package includes just the camera, body clip mount and USB cable while the “Full” package includes a few more mounts, extensions, a waterproof case and SD card. Able to shoot 8 megapixel photos or video at 1080p or 720p, there are loads of different options for shooting with the MD-10. Burst mode, time lapse, delayed start, picture in video and more are available to the user. Additionally, the MD-10 broadcasts its own WiFi signal so you can watch the live feed from the cam- era on any smart device using the AEE app. You can also adjust the camera settings and operate it using the wireless device. Just think about that … a waterproof cam that you can mount to the front of your racer, trail truck or bash-mobile to drive them in FPV style while recording your run in HD and with audio. In the system menu, you can also change the resolution as well as the view angle (Wide, Medium, Narrow, Small) to suit your needs.

We tested our camera on a few different vehicles and it performed great throughout our sessions. While the video captured was a bit bumpy on the off-road machines, we quickly realized that the Shoot In Video feature was our favorite. Using this mode, you can record video while the shutter captures a photo every 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds, so even if your video is a little bumpy, you’ll get nice, clean still shots at the same time. The price of the MD-10 is right, the size of it is smaller than most other action cams and the features are awesome. I, for one, am glad that Hitec teamed up with AEE to produce this little gem.
