Looks like we have another new trail truck to add to the mix. HoBao Racing, a company known for producing fun ready to run 1/8 buggies, truggies, monster truck and a few other RC machines has now released word of their HoBao DC-1 1/10 electric trail crawler. Details are still a bit limited, but we can see some neat features on the machine as well as some quality HoBao traits. Metal frame rails, composite axles, locked diffs, metal universals on the driveshafts and much more. The body looks non-descript, but it does have a semi-interior. What do you think of this new trail machine? Take a look a the detail photos below:
The motor appears to be forward facing and mounted to a metal motor plate with a slipper clutch to help protect the tranny. The transmission then appears to spin a transfer case before power is transferred to the axles.
The front suspension is set-up with a panhard bar and chassis mounted steering servo. The steering knuckles look pretty bulky hand have metal arms for the links to attach to.
Slider style driveshafts connect the transfer case to the axles. Looks like the links for the suspension are metal.
The body seems to come with an interior that will fit figures for a more scale look.
HoBao is known to make good gears. Looks like a steel gear and locker inside the axles.
Here we can see the battery located toward the rear of the truck which seems to be an alternate mounting location. We can also see the aluminum shocks.
The body appears to have a lot of detail accessories. Roof rack, fenter flares, snorkle, door handles, side trim and running boards. The transmitter looks pretty cool for an RTR machine.
