The brace is easy to install and comes with the hardware necessary for the installation. Check out the installation on our SC10-RS.

AT A GLANCE
WHO MAKES IT: DE Racing
WHAT IS IT: Chassis Brace
PART NUMBER: DER-CB-ASC
PRICE: $8.95
INCLUDES: Skid brace, three 4-40 flathead screws and drill bit
TOOLS NEEDED TO INSTALL: 1/16 and 3/32 hex driver and drill
ADDITIONAL ITEMS NEEDED: None

IN THE KIT
The DE chassis brace looks similar to the stock skid up front with the exception of the DE Racing logo molded into the bottom. Toward the back of the skid, an additional plate is molded in to protect the nose section of the chassis that can wear as it hits the ground or even break in a hard crash. The DE piece is molded in a strong plastic composite and we even noticed small reliefs in the back of the brace to allow the hinge pins to slide out in case you need to change a suspension arm, nice attention to detail! Three 4-40 screws are included with the brace to secure it after drilling three holes in the chassis with the provided drill bit. The small modification to the chassis for the install is so easy, anyone can do it. Here are the steps.

Install DE Racing SC10/SC10.2 Chassis Brace
STEP 1
Use a 1/16 and 3/32 hex driver to remove the stock skid from the truck. Remove the six screws in total and lift off the skid.

Remove the three cap screws using a 3/32 hex driver from the top brace. Pull the front assembly off of the chassis and pop off the steering link from the servo arm.

STEP 3
Clamp the drill bit DE supplies into a hand or electric drill and slide it into the top brace holes until it bottoms out. Apply a little pressure and slowly drill the hole through the bottom of the chassis. Do not drill too fast, you do not want to widen the holes to where the screws can’t thread into the plastic. Once you flip the chassis over, you’ll see the three holes where the new brace will attach.

STEP 4
Install the DE Chassis brace with the stock screws in the front and use the three supplied screws to secure the rear of the skid.

WRAP-UP
The DE Racing Chassis brace is an inexpensive security measure to prevent damage to your SC10 at only $9. Every driver who is really hard on their SC10 should have one of these braces bolted on and for any B4 owner’s checking this out, DE offers a brace for your vehicles as well.
