Review: Novarossi High-Performance Clutch

Novarossi set out to manufacture a well-balanced, high performance clutch and the result is what you see here. The four-shoe clutch has a balanced flywheel with four hardened steel pins to support the included aluminum and carbon friction material shoes. An inner hub loads the clutch springs and then drops into place over the pins. The assembly is secured by the clutch nut and then you install the clutchbell you selected when you purchased the assembly. Quality Novarossi bearings are included as well as hardware. The clutch is relatively easy to install if you are familiar with nitro engines, but if you want to swap shoes or springs, you’ll need to remove the clutch nut every time. This little maintenance issue in the Novarossi clutch is overshadowed by its performance. The snap this clutch has is amazing. There was a rolling jump leading to a straight on our test track. Rolling off the jump, I could pin the throttle and wheelie the buggy a quarter of the way down the straight. With short run-ups, clearing double jumps was easy. This is a true performance clutch.
