Review: RC4WD Scale King Off-Road Piggyback Shocks

Scalers are well, scale. So when modelers are looking to create the ultimate scale machine for off-road adventures they want licensed gear to not only play the part but to deliver on performance. RC4WD, an off-road scale truck authority, partnered up with King Shocks and now offers scale replicas of these awesome dampers. The 110mm shocks, shown here feature machined aluminum bodies, spring perch, lower rod end, intermediate ring, shock collar and upper cap with faux reservoir. The king logo is etched in the reservoir and on the intermediate ring. The hefty shaft slides in dual O-ring seals and the shocks come already filled with oil. We installed these on our Vaterra Ascender and they look awesome from any angle. But more importantly the shock performs and soaks up the terrain while keeping the wheels planted. RC4WD’s King Off-Road Racing shocks would be an awesome addition to any scale machine in our book with only a little fuss in the hardware department to make them work on your specific machine.
