It is the aftermarket parts companies like Pro-Line that continually feed cool and innovative products into our hobby which allows us to transform our stock ready-to-run vehicles into awesome, one-of-a-kind custom rides. Modifying and upgrading an RC vehicle is a big part of what makes this hobby so enjoyable. This allows us to personalize a vehicle thus making it truly our own. Pro-Line is very well established and therefore is known as a go-to company when you want to change the appearance, durability or performance of an RC vehicle. One of the many RC vehicles that Pro-Line has been making aftermarket parts for is the giant-sized Traxxas X-Maxx monster truck. Pro-Line has produced several items including bodies, wheels, tires and accessories which will transform the X-Maxx into a fully customized monster truck with improved performance.

Currently, Pro-Line sells four bodies for the Traxxas X-Maxx which is the one upgrade that will instantly change the appearance of this gigantic monster truck. First off is the licensed 2017 Ford Raptor body which is available either clear (3482-17) or pre-painted (3482-13). Both offerings come pre-cut so that you don’t have to worry about making a mistake when cutting the polycarbonate and it is a welcome time saver. The body is beautifully modeled after the much anticipated full-size Ford F-150 Raptor pickup truck. Pro-Line incorporated the aggressive scale detail into the body and included a sticker sheet to make it a highly detailed replica. If you choose the clear version of the Ford Raptor body, it comes with window masks and overspray film. The pre-painted version looks incredible with is charcoal over silver two tone paint scheme complete with blue racing stripes.
If you are a Chevy fan, Pro-Line has you covered with its 2019 Chevy Silverado Z71 Trail Boss clear body (3507-17). It is an officially licensed body and specifically made as a direct fit for the Traxxas X-Maxx. This body captures the distinct and popular look of the full size Silverado. Once you lay down your own customized paint job, the included sticker sheet will help complete its look. Pro-Line includes window masks so that you end up with clear windows and overspray film to keep the outside of the body protected while it is getting painted.
Differing from the other two bodies mentioned here, the Pro-Line Pre-Cut Brute Bash Armor Body (3513-17) was developed to be the ultimate bash body for your Traxxas X-Maxx. Instead of being made of polycarbonate, the Brute is made from Pro-Line’s new super tough Bash Armor material which is twice as thick as the other bodies. Along with its extra thickness, the body is ultra flexible to prevent it from shattering or cracking. Unlike clear polycarbonate, the Bash Armor material is white and cannot be painted so Pro-Line includes a nice set of detailed sticker sheets that feature fender and window graphics as well as several others. The body is Pre-Cut and designed to work perfectly with the X-Maxx’s body mount and cage system.
Pro-Line has developed a special bead-loc wheel design for the Traxxas X-Maxx that allow users to change tires and/or tire foam without the worry of the tires coming out of the bead once reassembled as well as it lets you re-use the wheels. The new Pro-Line wheels are called the Impulse Pro-Loc wheels (2763-03). Pro-Line’s proprietary Pro-Loc technology creates an ultra-secure bond between Pro-Line’s Pro-Loc tires and the Impulse Pro-Loc wheels. The wheel has a specially shaped channel so that the reinforced tire bead of Pro-Line’s Pro-Loc tires fits into and the bead-loc screws actually pass through the tire. This along with the “pinch” that is applied when the outer bead-loc ring is installed gives this Pro-Line Pro-Loc tire/wheel setup the maximum possible mounting security. Sold in pairs, each package includes two extra thick composite black wheels that will stand up to serious off-road abuse, stone gray bead-loc rings and socket head cap screws to assemble the Pro-Line Impulse Pro-Loc wheels.
Pro-Line sells three different tire tread styles for the Traxxas X-Maxx: the Badlands MX43 Pro-Loc All Terrain Tires (10131-00), the Trencher 4.3” Pro-Loc All Terrain Tires (10151-00), and the the Sling Shot 4.3” Pro-Loc Sand Tires (10146-103). Each style is available unmounted or mounted on Pro-Line’s Impulse Pro-Loc Wheels and are sold in pairs.
The Pro-Line Badlands MX43 Pro-Loc All Terrain Tires have a motocross inspired tread with big and bold knobby tread. Since these tires were designed for the ultra-powerful Traxxas X-Maxx, Pro-Line took the extra steps and gave them an all new ultra-durable rubber compound that prevents tire ballooning even at high speeds. These are true all-terrain tires which can find traction on any surface and work best on loose and loamy dirt, mud or grass.
The all-terrain Trencher 4.3” Pro-Loc Tires came to be after several months of research and development from the team at Pro-Line to ensure that they would perform on any off-road condition you can find. The Trencher is wider and taller than the popular Bandlands 4.3” tires thus giving it a more aggressive appearance and performance. To enhance the Trencher’s grip even further, Pro-Line molded them in their super soft compound.
Differing from the Badlands and Trencher Pro-Loc tires, the Pro-Line Sling Shot 4.3” Pro-Loc tires are purpose engineered for outstanding performance in sand and snow. They are constructed of the same rubber compound as the Badlands to prevent ballooning and to stand up to serious abuse. Just imagine the roost that you can throw with these mounted up on your X-Maxx.
You can keep the action going even when the sun starts to go down with the Pro-Line Double Row 6” Super-Bright LED Light Bar Kit (6276-05) designed for the Traxxas X-Maxx. This light bar is fully functional with real LED lights. It has two rows of 30 LED light bulbs stacked to give you a total of 60 LED bulbs. Install is quite easy as it comes prewired with a 12-inch long cable that can plug directly into the receiver for power. The lights are rated for 6V to 12V power so it can handle either a 2S or 3S LiPo power source. A curved black Nylon housing securely holds the LEDs and includes extra-thick mounts and hardware for installation. The curved shape gives it a more scale appearance once mounted on the X-Maxx.
