We’ve certainly sang the praises of CowRC’s products over the years and everyone here just loves using its magnetic pit mats, lubricants, cleaners, and more. We recently had the opportunity to experience the CowRC custom shop when we had them build us a few custom magnetic work mats for our new R/C workshop. We showed you the finished work shop in the October 2016 issue, but the cherry on our work shop sundae was a pair of custom magnetic mats from our friends at CowRC along with a selection of their top products to get our new shop up and running and to be able to handle any maintenance or build up we throw at it.
Of course like any delivery from the “Brown Santa” we were itching to tear into our delivery from CowRC when the light bulb (albeit a dim one) came on over our fat head. CowRC’s product is quite unique and isn’t something you can generally toss in a box like a battery or brushless motor. So we decided to “dissect” the CowRC packaging to show everyone just how well these magnetic mats are packaged to ensure they arrive on your doorstep damage free, as they did for us.
Fresh off the truck and on our kitchen table (shh, the wife wasn’t home from work yet!). The box is made up of several custom cut pieces of cardboard to protect the work mats within. Here we’ve cut the end caps open on the cardboard.
After carefully cutting the packaging down the long side and cutting the reinforcing cardboard panel away we were able to open the lid of the packaging. On top were three 9×12 Pro Mag Screw Catcher Work Mats with our RC Driver logo along with two 5×9.5 Pro Mag Screw and Part Trays. These will be used for small projects in our shop.
After removing the first layer of products a second layer of cardboard along with custom cut cardboard inserts to protect the foam corrals was removed to access our custom work mats. Seen here is a custom Pro Mag Screw Catcher Hybrid Mat with parts corrals in 20×36 size with a bonded secondary work mat in 12×23. Sitting on top of that is a second custom cut mat we had CowRC make up a 12×24 work mat for our computer area where we sometimes do small work (trans rebuilds, tire mounting, etc.). That is also a Pro Mag Screw Catcher Flat Mat.

CowRC’s awesome line up of products is a sure way to make your R/C maintenance and repairs go smoothly! We ordered cans of Moo-Slick, Moo-Cleen, Parts & Chassis Wash, Udder Butter grease, and one of CowRC’s killer Jet Blaster machines for cleaning our rides. A small Dot Box will certainly help organize all of our small bits like screws and hinge pins that have been all over our bench for months too!
The 9×12 Pro Mag Screw Catcher Work Mats are perfect for small projects like shock rebuilds, transmission or nitro motor clutch upgrades. Having three of these means we can handle multiple projects at once, or if we’re down waiting for parts we can just set the whole thing aside and bust out another mat.
On our computer desk the 12×24 Pro Mag Screw Catcher Flat Mat was a perfect fit as well (measure twice, and have CowRC cut once!). This area we plan to use for new product “clean” assembly where we don’t need the whole vehicle (think radio box, bead lock wheel assembly, etc.).
