A 7.2-volt NiMH battery pack is included with the Vaterra ’69 Camaro RS which is great to get you rolling right out of the box. If you jump up to LiPo power like this 7.4-volt 2S hardcase pack from Dynamite, you will gain much more runtime and even some added punch of power for the motor. Just keep in mind you will need a charger that can juice LiPo battery packs.

In stock form, the V100-S chassis of the Vaterra 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS includes friction shocks instead of oil-filled units. Upgrading to the adjustable aluminum shocks shown here will make the ride of this classic muscle car smoother and provide improved overall handling. Assembly of the shocks is straightforward and the install onto the chassis is a cinch.

An aftermarket steel pinion gear with a higher tooth count than stock is a cheap and quick way to squeeze more speed out of the Vaterra Camaro. Robinson Racing offers a huge selection of pinion gears in assorted tooth counts that you can try out. Not only will there be a noticeable performance increase, but the steel construction of the pinion will last and last. There are also Six- Pack Starter Sets of pinions offered by RRP which allow you to try out different gear combos until you find what works best for you. They are sold in packs of six in a range of tooth counts.
